Building in Iowa

After the flood of 2008 in Cedar Rapids, Kurt spearheaded a fundraising effort with his NFL colleagues resulting in more than $650,000 for rebuilding efforts in partnership with Habitat for Humanity. First Things First has partnered with Habitat for Humanity Cedar Valley ever since with a $25,000 donation each year to ensure affordable housing options continue in Cedar Rapids. Kurt and Brenda return to Kurt’s hometown when possible to support with sweat equity and meet the families working hard to purchase their first homes.
