Homes for the Holidays

Many low-income families dream of home ownership, making sacrifices for years to save funds. Together with affordable home ownership programs these families devote hundreds of hours to taking finance classes and sometimes helping to build their home from the ground up. Together with Aaron’s Inc., U-Haul, and other corporate teammates, First Things First rewards single mothers or fathers, who have met these qualifications, with “Homes for the Holidays,” a program which turns a house into a home with new furnishings as a surprise for these first-time homeowners. Since 2002, First Things First has surprised 60 families, including 144 kids.
